Fuel Load Assessment and Bushfire Hazard Training (2 Day)
- Awareness of bushfire risks and hazards in a local context
- Understand bushfire behaviour principles and how fuel loads impact fire spread and intensity, including fire weather
- An appreciation of the local government bushfire risk management plan, bushfire prone areas and relevant legislation
- Understand and identify different vegetation classifications and fuel arrangements
- Determine appropriate mitigation measures for bushfire risk reduction
- Ability to utilise tools and resources to accurately carryout fuel load assessments
Day 1:
- Bushfire risk principles and characteristics
- Bushfire risk management
- Bushfire risk mitigation (theory)

Day 2:
- Fuel load assessment (field)
- Numerous sites will be visited, depending on the organisation’s requirements, to ensure participant exposure to a variety of local vegetation types
- This will form the basis of the practical assessment
