Grant Funding
Mitigation Activity Grant (MAF) funding is available to Local Governments who have endorsed Bushfire Risk Management Plans (BRMP) through the Office of Bushfire Risk Management (OBRM). Funding available is in the vicinity of $500,000 per local government to implement approved treatments but may be capped at lowers amounts dependent on the number of submissions.
There are two MAF rounds scheduled per year:
• Round 1 opens in early April, closes in early May with funding allocated in July. Acquittal is in July the following year.
• Round 2 opens in mid-August, closes in late September with funding allocated in November. Acquittal is in November the following year.
